<p>If your kidneys are unable to deal with all the uric acid that you ingest then they will turn it into crystals and send it off round your body. This is the starting point that ends up in the agony that is gout.</p>
<p>While it isn&#8217;t terrible to eat foods that are rich in purines once in a while, it is when people eat them to excess that the pain of gout can start to appear.</p>
<p>Most people want a quick fix for any problem, when dealing with medical situations such as gout this isn&#8217;t always possible or advisable. Your gout didn&#8217;t really appear overnight, it has taken months and probably years of eating the wrong things possibly coupled with a genetic predisposition to appear. So expecting your gout to just be fixed instantly is unrealistic isn&#8217;t it.</p>
<p>Uric acid comes about as the body breaks down purines in foods, to fight or prevent gout, the uric acid in the body must be brought down to safe levels. Logically, in controlling levels of uric acid in the body, you will have to reduce or altogether eliminate eating foods rich in purines.</p>
<p>While drinking alcohol may give you some instant temporary feeling of pleasure it can be a contributing cause for gout attacks. Your kidneys have to work hard to deal with alcohol and the high amount of purines that it contains, add this to some rich red meat and your kidneys won&#8217;t be able to keep up and will be expelling more uric acid into your body.</p>
<p>Refined carbohydrates as well as saturated fats increase uric acid levels in the body since they have a way of being kept in the body. High-protein diets should also be avoided because the amino acids in protein interfere with the proper function of the kidney in eliminating uric acid.</p>
<p>Gout diets are not all about stopping eating things to reduce purine entering your system, there are foods that you can eat to actually help your body deal with uric acid. Cherries are one food that has been shown to lower levels of uric acid in your body. You should be eating dark red cherries daily as this will help your body deal with the uric acid and that will reduce your gout attacks.</p>

<p>The fitness industry is constantly looking for the next best thing for you to digest. In an effort to keep things fresh, an endless amount of fad diets have hit the market. One specific diet that has gained popularity is the fast.</p>
<p>The big problem with fasting, however, is that it can cause some very serious issues especially if you do it for a prolonged period of time. Don&#8217;t believe me? Here are 6 reasons why you shouldn&#8217;t be fasting:</p>
<p><b>1. Liver drainage.</b> What drains out of your liver? Glycogen. And this can happen in less than a days time. Without glycogen your body doesn&#8217;t have a mechanism to control blood sugar. Thus, you&#8217;ll end up with extremely low levels of energy.</p>
<p><b>2. The transformation of muscle to sugar.</b> Without sugar, the brain shuts down. This is one of the reasons diabetes is so scary. When you fast, sugar becomes depleted in your body. In order to prevent death, your body begins to transform muscle tissue into sugar.</p>
<p><b>3. The breakdown of organs.</b> Muscle won&#8217;t be the only target here. Your body will also break down vital organs and tissues, to a lesser degree of course. And cannibalizing your own organs is probably not that healthy?</p>
<p><b>4. Ketone bodies.</b> Your body can only cannibalize so much tissue before you enter the danger zone. And once you&#8217;re in the danger zone, your body will do everything it can to get you out. How does it do it? With the production of ketones which are basically an inferior substitute for blood sugar.</p>
<p><b>5. No proof of cleansing.</b> Many people fast because they believe it cleanses their body. Yet no conclusive scientific studies have proven this. In fact, a recent documentary by the BBC showed that fasting provided NO benefit whatsoever in terms of increased health.</p>
<p><b>6. Acid/base mayhem.</b> Fasting is most likely going to disrupt the acid-base balance in your body. In addition to loses in minerals and the degradation of your intestinal lining. And the worst part of all of this is that exercise becomes extremely painful.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, most fasts are also accompanied by a weight gain rebound. This happens because as you fast your metabolism slows down significantly. Then once you stop fasting, you eat an excess to compensate, but you have a slower metabolism!</p>

<p>Top scientists believe that weight gain is being caused by many things, there is no single enemy here. Therefore, your struggles with body fat is most likely caused by a variety of negative variables.</p>
<p>In an effort to explain excess body fat, scientists have come up with some theories. And although these theories aren&#8217;t set in stone, they may provide some insight as to why you&#8217;re gaining weight.</p>
<p>So without further delay, here are potential explanations for why you&#8217;re carrying extra weight:</p>
<p><b>1. Lipoprotein lipase.</b> Dietary fat gets shoved into fat cells by lipoprotein lipase. According to this theory, those with too much body fat have too much lipoprotein lipase. And those with little body fat have less.</p>
<p><b>2. Sheer number of fat cells.</b> Your fat cells can increase in size, but they can also replicate and increase in number. Proponents of this idea believe that overweight individuals have a higher number of fat cells and therefore constantly struggle with losing weight.</p>
<p><b>3. The regulated point.</b> According to this one, your body has a certain weight or set point that it tries very hard to stay at. Any effort on your part to change will be immediately thwarted by metabolic slow down.</p>
<p><b>4. Brown fat.</b> Not all body fat is created equal. White fat, the one responsible for fat storage, is sluggish and wants to hoard nutrients. Brown fat, on the other hand, makes fat cells release their energy as heat. This theory believes that lean people have a higher proportion of brown fat.</p>
<p><b>5. Thermic effect of food.</b> Right after you eat, your body burns a little extra calories because of the thermic effect of food. This theory claims that lean people burn more right after eating in comparison to overweight people.</p>
<p>Now please don&#8217;t get too caught up with these multiple explanations of weight gain. After all, you do have a lot of control on how your body looks. Consistent research has shown that lifestyle factors account for a very large portion of weight gain regardless of genetics.</p>

<p>Small deviations in technique can really add up when doing exercises for your arms. Over the long run, said deviations can really put a dent in your progress and potentially cause serious injury.</p>
<p>Now I strongly feel that the majority of women wishing to get toned arms aren?t even aware of these deviations. There is a lot going on when performing an arm workout, so perfecting technique probably isn?t a top priority.</p>
<p>Having said that, I definitely do NOT recommend going overboard here. Do your best to use proper form but don?t become paralyzed by over analysis.</p>
<p>Thus, here are 4 mistakes to avoid when doing arm exercises for women:</p>
<p><b>1. Using momentum to bring the weight up.</b> You may not even be aware that you?re doing this. Why? Because you probably look at yourself from the front when exercising. Yet the only way to really see if your using momentum is to look at yourself from the side. So whenever you do a curl, double check the side mirrors?</p>
<p><b>2. Not keeping the shoulders depressed.</b> Always keep your shoulders down and back when exercising. Letting them elevate will activate muscles other than your arms. And if you?re not activating your arms, you?re not getting results.</p>
<p><b>3. Not keeping the elbows locked in place.</b> Letting the elbows shift around is the evil of all evils. The only thing that should be moving when you do your arm exercises is your forearms. Allowing the elbows too shift around is the quickest way to retard your arm toning results.</p>
<p><b>4. Not placing weight on the heels.</b> You should use the heels of your feet for support. This will keep you much more stable and will allow you to lift much more weight. You?re more likely to keep lower back injuries at bay by using this technique.</p>
<p>Avoiding the above errors when doing arm exercises will make you better off than most women. Don?t worry about having perfect technique, this will make your arm workouts a nightmare. Instead, do your best to avoid the major errors and keep the flow going.</p>

<p>Obesity is rampant in today society, and trying to get our eating habits under control and for the most part healthy, has been somewhat of a losing battle. Life moves fast and people are more and more opting for eating on the run rather than sitting down to a well planned meal, and what does that mean&#8212;-usually fast food, or unhealthy foods crammed down our throats as we race to work, or race to the kids&#8217; after school activities, and usually with a heavy calorie overload that does not get worked off but remains on our bodies as fat.</p>
<p>One of the first programs for easy and quick weight loss that comes to mind, is the low carbohydrate diet, where you reduce your intake of carbohydrates radically, and increase the amount of proteins of all kinds that you are eating. As a result, your body is forced to start burning fat as a source of fuel, and when you are on the plan, you must forgo the high carbohydrate foods like pasta, potatoes, corn or bread. The protein consumed must be lean meats and lots of other types of proteins; just keep an eye on how many carbohydrates you are consuming.</p>
<p>As we move on, thinking about fast ways to lose weight, here is another suggestion that works pretty well for rapid weight loss. This is the calorie alternating diet, and it is as it states?alternating. One point you eat normally for 2 days, then restrict the amount of calories you eat for 2 days, and then go back to your normal diet for 2 days. In this way, you can trick your system into burning calories at a more rapid rate, because of the way it is naturally programmed, and you will lose weight rapidly.</p>
<p>Then, no list of fast ways to lose weight would be complete without including that old standby, the cabbage soup diet. A lot of people that have used this diet complain that it is the other side of monotony and a real drag, but we are not here to have a food party or entertain ourselves with luscious foodstuffs; this is the hardcore, down and dirty weight loss that will get you started, so you can go on to a more palatable weight loss plan. The diet consists of mainly cabbage soup; you can find the recipe for it almost anywhere on the Internet if you browse for it; and you can have the soup as often as you want, as much as you want. On some days you can eat all the steak or lean meat you can handle along with the soup, and that&#8217;s all; then the next day&#8212;just soup, soup, soup and fruit&#8212;that&#8217;s it for that day. Oh,boy.</p>
<p>Another suggestion as one of the many means out there of fast ways to lose weight; is the metabolism boosting diet. In this diet, it is recommended that 6 or more small meals be eaten during the day, rather than three large ones. The theory behind this is that your metabolism will get sped up more and more as small amounts of food are introduced over and over because it is kept running all day at an elevated rate, rather than the up and down revs that are part of just eating 3 big meals. Each meal should be about 200 calories, that way your total intake is about 1200 for the day, you will feel fuller longer, and you will lose weight.</p>
<p>There is another way that works pretty well when you are searching for fast ways to lose weight, and that is the 5-day diet. This diet was originally instituted for heart patients to slim down before they went in for surgery, and the diet works so well, it has been put out for the public to use if desired. It allows for intake of all the essential vitamins and minerals needed to stay healthy, and the calorie intake is no more than 1500 calories/day. A sample meal on this diet is not something you would want to eat long term, but for a short period&#8212;like 5 days&#8212;-it is doable. The intake for a meal would be 1 half grapefruit, black coffee, plain tuna, and bananas. That&#8217;s it, but the weight loss is real.</p>
<p>Losing weight is not nearly as much fun as putting it on, because sometimes the methods needed to take it off are tortuous compared with the delicious taste bud stuffing extravaganzas that take place and help to pack on the pounds. But, when it comes to that point where the line is drawn in the sand, and you must do something, sometimes using one of the fast ways to lose weight is a simple solution to get you out of your lethargy and on the road to weight loss.</p>
