Are Carbs a Supporter or a Foe for Weight Loss and Health?
The past couple of years have seen a sudden increase in the exceedingly popular low carbohydrate diets. Carbohydrates have been billed as the opponent of fat loss and health. So are carbs the obstacle or is there more to the story?
The body’s favored source of energy is carbs. Fat and protein are too elemental and they can give energy, however, the body needs to labor harder to translate those sources. Some carbs are essential, however, because the human brain runs exclusively on carbs. However, you need to make sure that you are receiving the most excellent carbs by depending generally on complex carbs and the minimally processed, most nutritious sources of simple carbs.
All carbohydrates supply energy for our bodies yet this energy source can be broken down into two categories, simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbs tend to hit your bloodstream quicker and burn out quicker while complex carbs have a propensity to be released slower and present a longer constant energy. A good example of a simple carb would be white table sugar whereas a good example of a complex carb would be oatmeal.
You might consider that you just need to stay away from simple carbs and try to only consume the complex carbs. Though, there is much more to the story and you may not want to totally discount simple carbs as of yet.
The reality of the matter is that there are many extremely nourishing and valuable foodstuff that are simple carbs. Not candy bars and pastries of course, but some of the most nutritious foods on earth are comprised of simple carbs. Many fruits and even some vegetables are considered to be simple carbs. Yet, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, peaches, nectarines, the goji berry and the acai berry and actually all fruits for that matter, are all very high in nutrition and antioxidants and they are a very healthy supplement to a nutritious diet.
The best tactic to incorporate nourishing simple carbohydrates in your food intake is to evade processing as much as viable and devour the food in its natural state. Whole fruit comprises fiber and other nutrients that are not found in juices. Thus it is much superior to eat the whole fruit instead of juices if feasible. However, juices can be nourishing in moderation and since the acai berry can only be located in a processed state outside of Brazil, acai berry juice in moderation is a nourishing alternative.
When you over consume simple carbohydrates and simple sugars, it can lead to fat gain and obesity along with a host of other wellbeing difficulties. Simple sugars are apt to generate wild fluctuations in your blood sugar levels, which can lead to disproportionate insulin levels and weight gain.
